An Easy Solution To Solve All Your Problems

by Christopher D. Anderson on April 26, 2010

I have the perfect solution to all your problems. And it’s so simple too. All you have to do is quit.

Yup that’s all. Just drop everything and forget it. So simple. You don’t have to worry about anything now. There is nothing there to worry about. No rushing, no deadlines, no struggling to make things work. All you have to do is quit and all your worries and struggles will be gone.

They say to keep going just a little bit longer and you’ll reach success. Keep learning a little more, keep trying a bit harder. But why bother? All you have to do is quit and the solution is solved. End of story.

Yeah, you won’t ever know if you could do it, you won’t ever actually reach success but why go through the trouble huh? Why would you want to go through the trouble of taking the time to market and build your business so that it can make you lots of money and give you all the freedom you could want?

Why go through all the trouble of creating something that is a legacy in your life? Why make something great in your life, something people will remember you for?

Why go through all that trouble when it’s so much easier to just quit?

Wait, you don’t want to quit? You want all that time and freedom? All that money? You want to do all that work? Psshhh. It would be easier to quit but go right ahead if you want. Keep working and eventually reach your dream, then come back and tell me if it was worth it.

My problem is different. I could quit, but then what?

Quitting is one solution, but what do I really want? I think the two hardest questions to answer are; what do I really want and how can I accomplish it?

It could be in general terms like, “I want to be a millionaire” or “I want to work from home”, as soon as you find the answer, another question arrives, how?

You’ll have the same questions no matter the topic. “I want to become the best basketball player on my team”… ok then, how?

So, you could quit, but then you’ll have to start doing something else… and then what? :)

Well, like I said, if you want to be the best basketball player you could take the time to practice and practice until your really good then practice some more. Learn all the techniques and find you a basketball mentor. But it’s easier to just quit. That way you don’t have to bother with all that work so you can be the best basketball player right?

Seriously though, when it comes down to it, the glory is worth all the effort no matter what you get into or want. And if you want something bad enough it doesn’t matter how, you’ll figure that out along the way.

You’re absolutely right. I’m currently reading Linchpin by Seth Godin again, it’s an awesome book and it’s about what you’re saying.

Have you read it?

Hey Chris,

It’s amazing how many people choose that very solution. In the last two years I’ve seen blogs that were fantastic die a horrid slow death because the owner just quit. Blech.

Yup, even in my comparably short time in the blogosphere I have seen a few good blogs bite the dust as well. I’ve seen some people disappear too. On the bright side it makes more room for the rest of us right?
