I just wanted to update a few things with you today. It’s been awhile since I’ve added an update post and unless you are signed up to the OMV newsletter, you may have missed a couple things. So…
Donations
About a month ago I put up a donation post for a friend of mine who lost her house to a fire. On that post I said I would keep everyone updated on how things go with it. Unfortunately there hasn’t been much to update about as far as the donations go. So far, I’ve only had one person donate 5 bucks towards it. That’s it. I’m a bit disappointed but I don’t blame anyone. Maybe there just hasn’t been enough people to see it. Although all the RTs were awesome thank you for that.
With that said, I’m still going to keep it up so that when I implement some ideas to bring in more traffic, it should get more exposure. And it got me to thinking that I’m going to have some kind of donation thing all the time. Not for me, but for others needs. Just one of my little ways to help out.
Shout Outs
I just wanted to give to Lexi Rodrigo of The Savvy Freelancer. She had a little contest a couple weeks ago to win a book that just recently came out. The idea was to give a testimonial for her product: The Savvy Freelancer’s Website Secrets. Of course I did that a long time ago but the crazy part is I actually won. I never win things like that.
So it was a nice little surprise and I just wanted to thank you Lexi for the chance to win. So I won a copy of The Wealthy Freelancer as well as a bunch of bonuses. I am currently reading through it right now and I love it so far. Excellent information in there for freelancers of any kind. I like that there are a lot of tactics in there that aren’t all online too. But this isn’t a review so I’ll stop there, but look for one soon.
Thank you Lexi!
Plans and Ideas
This blog is growing pretty quickly (could use a bit more traffic, but I’m working on that) and I have several ideas I would like to implement both for this blog and for my writing business. If you remember, I asked what kind of information would you want to know for interviews I have planned. Well, those are still coming it’s just going to take some time as I get the ball rolling on a couple other things.
I still want to do that, it just won’t be right away. I am, however, still interested in your feedback on that so don’t hesitate to comment or contact me. I’d love to hear all your ideas and suggestions.
As I mentioned in a post last week I’m working on streamlining things for this blog and my business so there may be a few adjustments here and there. As I iron things out, I’ll start adding in some ideas I have. I have a few that should be high quality content for everyone, but we’ll get to what those are at a later date.
Just So You Know
Not your typical post today I know, but I like being transparent and letting my readers know what’s going on. I’m working hard to really get this thing going so I can provide valuable content and knowledge to more people and to bring some new and fresh ways to deliver it. I’m pretty excited about it all and hope you get a lot from what comes in the future. For now don’t forget:
Knowledge is most definitely power, just don’t forget to put it to use it!
