As busy as marketers are it makes a world of difference to have a to do list of some sort. It’s actually essential the busier we get.
Everyone has a different version of their own to do list. I use a notebook where I write down what needs done and ideas I have. It’s a bit primitive but it works wonders. You can also use google calender to send you reminders of things you need to do. There tons of ways make a to do list, it just has to work for you.
So when I come across a new way to make a to do list, I had to share. I came across Teux Deux a couple days ago and have spent some time playing with it. It’s nice. And simple. Which is why I like it. It’s basically like my use of the notebook, except neater and a bit more organized.
It’s extremely easy to use, which is a good thing. It takes about 3 seconds to sign up for it and start using it. There is a column for everyday of the week, and all you do is type in what your task is and hit enter. It’s added to the list for that day. To get a better idea, check out the video from their website:

Easy right? I like that it moves unfinished tasks to the next day. It’s simple to use and almost too easy. But it saves time, which we can always use. My only complaint as of right now is not being able to edit your entries or even prioritize them. It’s not really a big deal though as you can just retype it and get rid of the old one. Besides they are taking suggestions and feedback so that may very well change in the future.
Here are a couple ideas to implement Teux Deux:
Make Teux Deux your homepage. that way whenever you open up your browser you have your to do list staring right at you.
While it doesn’t actually prioritize your tasks, you could use a little code to prioritize each task. Add a number or letter or something after each task. For example, you have 3 tasks you need to put in for Monday. Retweet some tweets, work on ebook, check stats (I know, a very simple example, but bear with me). Instead of just putting the tasks in like that, add a number afterwards.
Retweet some tweets #2
work on ebook #1
Check Stats #3
Or something like that. Just make it work for you. If you need to prioritize this could be a way to use it with the convenience of Teux Deux.
All in all it’s a handy application that I think I’ll be using quite often. I’ve tried a lot of different things for my to do lists and the only thing that has really worked for me is my notebook. This might just a little better though.
f.y.i. note: the links leading to Teux Deux are in no way affiliate links. I won’t get any credit from you clicking on those.

Teux Deux looks like a really handy to-do application (but with a weird name). I have used several similar ones, and ended up with Things (for Mac and iPhone). It’s easy to use, and at the same time it has a lot of advanced features. It’s not free.
Even though that I bought Things, and think that it’s an awesome software, I still use my notepad. It’s the most powerful tool I have

It does have a weird name but it serves it’s purpose I suppose.
You make a good point though. It doesn’t matter what kind of program I find I’ll always use my little notebook.

I just can’t break away from the pen and paper for my to-do list. I’ve tried many times, but there’s something to be said about the simplicity of pen and paper. Also, I like the idea of my grandchildren finding my old notebook in an attic 100 years from now. With that said, though, it’s hard to deny that teux-deux might be the best first step for me to take my to-do list online.

I’m the same way, I’ve tried all kind of software and whatnot that was supposed to help with productivity. I always went back to my notebook because of the simplicity. That’s why I like this though too. But I don’t think I’ll switch to it completely, I still depend on my notebook more than anything.
Isn’t it funny how the simplest things seem to work the best?
You ought to give it a try though. It’s a nice compliment to writing things down.

Cool. I’m still getting a feel for it myself, as you said, we’ll see how long it lasts. I think I’m going to make a couple suggestions in the feedback box they have there and see what happens.
I hope you guys will keep adding your experience with this software. I’m still using my notebook (pen and paper), while also using Things for my Mac and iPhone. But it’s like I’m missing something.
I would really like to have an alarm attached to my notepad, I’d like to get notified when I should do things

That’s a good idea. I think I’ll give a little while and then come back and update how it’s going. Seems pretty good so far.
Oh and about being notified, I know how you feel. I’ve tried out several things and they were more annoying than anything. That’s why I made Teux Deux my home page so I’ll see it every time I open the browser.
I found a pretty cool tip about being notified the other day. If you set up some reminders on google calender, there is an option to have an email sent to you for the reminders. I thought that was cool. I have google talk installed so whenever I get a new email it lets me know. I’m not much for calenders but it may be something for you to try out.
