With the end of the year fast approaching, I thought it would be a good time to do some reflecting. This is a great time to reassert yourself and make new goals for the new year. I think this is a pretty important exercise. It helps you see where you were and where you are now. And where you want to go in the future. It’s a good way to see what areas you need to improve on and what new ventures you can start on.
It’s real simple, just ask yourself a few questions. Write them down and write the answers down. Check to see what goals you made and which ones you met. Then make more goals for the next year. You can only get better if you work at it and making goals will help you focus.
These are just questions to get you thinking. Your goals are are great way to help you focus and make each year better than the last.
- What kind of goals did you make for yourself for 2009?
- And did you meet those goals?
- If not, why do you think you didn’t meet them? And what do you think you can do to change that?
- If you did reach your goals, how did you reach them? Were you able to just achieve them, or did you do even better than expected?
- What goals do you have for 2009? How high are you going to set the bar for yourself?
- Are your new goals pushing you at all? In other words are they just enough to get by? Or are they pushing your comfort zone and making you become a better marketer and business person?
Feel free to add your own personal questions as well. I think it’s just a good idea to take some time and go over your goals for the year and make new ones for the next. Keep pushing yourself to achieve. Success is in that direction.
So how was your 2009?
This year has been an interesting one for me. It was a year of change and much struggle. In a good way. I have been into internet marketing and working online for a few years, but this year was the one when I actually did take the plunge. I figured out what I needed to do and went for it.
I changed a lot in my mindset as well. Things really just started to “click” for me this year. It was a big step in the right direction. Finally. I realized not only what I needed to do, but what I wanted to do too. I started going with my passion instead of blindly trying to do things like everyone else.
This blog was a huge step for me. It’s basically when I decided that writing was for me. It has been fantastic so far, and I’ve met some excellent people. I also launched my writing services as well and have been building on both since.
Granted, I don’t make enough money to work from home full time yet, but I couldn’t be happier with what this year has brought me. Between all the other struggles of life, I have finally figured out what I’m going to do with myself. I’ve made huge steps towards pursuing that. And I’ve developed an unwavering mindset to keep going and never giving up.
It’s a start and a place that everyone begins.
I believe 2010 will be a great year as well. I have a lot of ideas to implement and create for the coming year and I hope to help out a lot of people in the process. My goals are set and I’m moving forward.
I’m more than ready for the next year. My goals are set. Are yours?
~Chris
