Do You Have a Long Term Mindset?

by Christopher D. Anderson on December 11, 2009

Many people come into marketing thinking that it’s something that can happen overnight. And while it has happened, it’s not likely. If you have these thoughts in your head get them out now. If you come into marketing and running an online business as a quick way to make a buck, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Sometimes it happens. Some people to make money seemingly overnight. But don’t go into thinking this way. Instead develop a long term mindset. Build a solid foundation for your business and concentrate on growing it everyday. Eventually things will pay off.

Yes you will make money and it probably won’t be right away. Think in the long term. Think about where you want to be in 6 months. In a year. Two years. Build your business to achieve that.

Once you switch yourself a long term mindset things will clear up and you will see things in a different light. Instead of fleeting from one opportunity to the next, wasting money, you will start to concentrate on one thing and becoming good at that one thing. Figure out what you know you can do and stick with it. Think long term.

The sooner you are in this mindset the better.

If you have already come to this mindset, how did it change things for you?

Good tips! I agree. People MUST thing long term. Unless of course you only want to be successful short term? But who the hell wants that!

You have to be persistent yet patient with your long term goals while being impatient with your short term goals. Because lets be honest… we live in an instant gratification society! I deal with this mindset shift constantly in Network Marketing. Good stuff Chris.

Excellent way to put it Ethan. I think that’s part of the problem, that we live in an instant gratification society. It’s kind of sad but true. And while that may work for a little bit, it’s.… well, short term.
