You make a great point Ethan. Just because it’s separate doesn’t mean you don’t have to be real. Most people can see right through that anyways.

While I do have different profiles on some social networks and I think it can be a good idea to keep it separate I want to bring up a point. Separate is ok but they must all be YOU! The REAL YOU! Nobody wants to follow someone they can tell is not real.

Take Chris for example. I can tell with out a shadow of a doubt even though we have never met in person that he is REAL even though I only network with him through his Networking sites.

You do have a point there. It’s easier to separate the two when they are.. well… separate. I actually have different email accounts, but folders work just as well. Folders are wonderful for organizing email in general.

It’s only been recently that my family has joined on these social sites. Not too much, but they are there.

It’s interesting to see someone not use sites like FB. Using those sites seems to be the big “thing” right now. Very cool.

I do try to keep personal and business separate — I just don’t want to use my personal Facebook account for business, it kind of takes the fun away from it! And I have loads of different email folders to separate everything our. You’re right that it really is necessary — things tend to get quite cluttered up otherwise!

I agree with you, but I also know that my family and friends do not connect with me via Twitter. They are a bit behind in times and don’t use those apps. As for facebook, I’m not using it for personal or business purposes as I have a thing against such sites. I don’t want to mention why, but I just don’t use it at all.

For others, they must do their best to separate the two (personal and business) as many would not bother reading your posts anyway.
