Making Time For Your Business And Yourself

by Christopher D. Anderson on November 27, 2009

I’m still recovering from my holiday feasting. There isn’t much that’s more satisfying then a homemade food induced nap. I got to thinking about marketing and running an online business and spending time with the people around you.

Making a living online is a busy job. You certainly will have to sacrifice some time from the other things you enjoy in life. A lot of people (myself included) can almost become obsessive with running their business. Especially when it’s new and growing. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get something off the ground. And it’s easy to forget about other things in the process.

So, just remember, while it’s great to work hard, make time for other parts of your life as well. Find a balance. Some things are more important sure, but a balance is the key for success. Too much of anything isn’t really a good thing. So find a balance for everything. The time you spend working on your online ventures, spend some time doing something you like to do.

Such as spending time with the family. Or work on one of your hobbies. Get away from things for a bit. And this isn’t just to balance things out. It makes you more effective as well. That’s why running a balanced life is so powerful. If you spend all your time working, it’s going to wear you out. On the flip side if you spend too much time not working, you won’t get anything done.

Once you have a balance between everything, it makes your life and your ventures much easier. If you work for a while and then do something else, you will be more than ready to come back into your work. You will be refreshed and ready to go.

It’s funny how such a simple thing can have a compounded effect on your life and business.

I’m off to eat some more leftovers, my online presence will still be here. Have a great weekend!

This is so true, because having balance in one’s life is of the utmost importance. Sometimes we all get so caught up in building our businesses that we forget to focus on why we are building the business in the first place. So we all have to remember to set aside the time to spend with our families and friends, as well as to take care of ourselves.

I think that if we all learn to balance our life more efficiently it will help us to be more successful no matter what our goals.

Thanks for the great post and try not to eat too much leftovers!

You nailed it. Most people start working online for the freedom. It’s so easy to forget about that sometimes.

Thanks for your sharing. Yes, I do agree that once you have a balance between everything, it will makes your life and your ventures much easier.
