Self doubt is a big killer of taking action. It causes you to hesitate or not even move forward at all. And of course that will take your business nowhere.
Everyone has self doubt about their abilities. Especially when they are new. So here is a simple exercise that you can use to help you overcome your fears.
— Write down what you need to do that your resistant to do. These are the things your hesitating to do. You keep putting them off and telling yourself you will do it later. Write these down and take a look at them.
— Think of the reward you will get by doing this. Think of the outcome if you were to actually follow through with it. Write this down as well.
— Now write down the excuses you come up with not to do this. Why are you hesitating? Why are you afraid? I think that most of the time you will find that your fears and self doubt are pretty easily overcome.
Doing this lays it out on the table and allows you to take a good look at things. As I said, you’ll find that most of the time your excuses are just that, excuses. It’s only natural to be put off by what isn’t comfortable. But to become a great marketer you always have to be pushing your own boundaries. Once you make the jump, you’ll realize you should have done so a long time ago.
