People Closest to You Can Be Obstacles

Bit of a per­sonal note today:

There are many obsta­cles on the road to suc­cess. One of the hard­est are also some­times the least expected. Your clos­est friends and rel­a­tives can just as eas­ily tear you down, as any­thing else can. Build­ing a busi­ness online is just like any other, it takes time. Your fam­ily doesn’t always under­stand that though.

–They get impa­tient and won­der why your not mak­ing money.
–Your wast­ing your time and effort.
–Your wast­ing money.
–Go out and find a real job.
–It’ll never work.

Sound famil­iar?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Per­sis­tence will pay off. You have to keep on truckin. Keep at it and as your busi­ness grows, you’ll be able to prove to them in time that it’s more than worth the effort.

But in the mean time it’s a good idea to take some time and explain every­thing that your doing. I had to do this with my wife. And even though she didn’t com­pletely under­stand how it all worked or why it worked, she stopped pes­ter­ing. She doesn’t ask when I’m going to start mak­ing money any­more or that it’s tak­ing too long.

I told her what I was doing and my goals. But I also told her my pas­sion for it, I told her my why. Why I’m in the busi­ness and that I’m doing it for my fam­ily. And I enjoy it.

Let them feel your pas­sion for it. And that you are a leader and will suc­ceed. They may not entirely believe it until it hap­pens but it will help the situation.

So believe it or not, fam­ily can be a major obsta­cle to your suc­cess. But as with any­thing else, just keep going. Never give up and stay per­sis­tent. You will succeed!
